Manchester United Vs Valencia

Manchester United - Old Trafford

Ground Number : 15
Manchester United 2-1 Valencia
12/08/14
Friendly

Can't believe this ground will be my third new ground of the new season! Old Trafford just wow! Also for a fact the highest attendance for this ground is 76,962 and that was between the team I support Grimsby Town and they played Wolves in 1939. But now days the attendance is 75,635 at Old Trafford so Grimsby & Wolves managed to have an extra 1000 at the game which is amazing.
Some other history about Old Trafford is that it is the second largest football stadium in the UK after Wembley and also it is the ninth largest in Europe.

So later on today I will be setting off to visit the home of Manchester United and also it is a home debut for new manager Louis Van Gaal after the sacking of David Moyes late last season. The journey began at 15:50 were we left the trawl but a hour into the trip we had a quick stoppage at a service station for a bite to eat were I bought a bacon wrap and a steak bake for just £3. We arrived at Manchester at 7pm only 45 minutes till kick off but we had a quick trip to the pub where I had a pint of fosters for FREE! Which you can't moan.... But it was time to make our way up to Old Trafford and the steps to get to the top stand took ages it felt like my legs were going to fall off haha. I also purchased a programme and a fan review for £6 and they are both very good reads.

It was time to play football! Manchester United had a line up off De Gea,  Phil Jones, Chris Smalling, James, Mata, Young, Herrera, Blackett, Fletcher, Rooney and Hernandez. A typical 3-5-2 formation from Van Gaal! Manchester United did have the chance to make it 1-0 from the penalty spot but Rooney saw his spot kick hit the post and it remained 0-0 unill the 49th minute by Darran Fletcher but then they was pegged by Valencia in the 71st minute where De Paul scored for them but when the match looked like it was going to end 1-1 substitute Fellaini scored in the 91st to give Manchester United the win. Second half Valencia matched United but it was that key moment what separated the two teams.

Overall this was one of the best moments I have witnessed so far except going to Wembley of course. The ticket was a very good price and the money to get there was a good price to top it off I even got a take away at 11.30pm at night haha. Hopefully I can do some more premier league games in the near future. Out of this experience I would rate it 8/10.
